AMREF Flying Doctors’ Gala in partnership with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation

AMREF Flying Doctors – Africa’s leading public health NGO – organised on Friday 24 February 2017, at the Hôtel de Paris in Monaco, a gala dinner in association with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, to raise funds for a common project which concentrates on teaching children in the Kilifi county, located on the kenyan coast, about water hygiene as well as being safe in and around water.

Under the High Patronage and in the presence of H.S.H. Princess Charlene, Mrs. Catarina Murino, Ambassador for AMREF, and Mr. Pierre Frolla, Ambassador for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and Director of the Aquatic Rescue Center of Monaco (CSAM), hosted the evening.

H.S.H. Princess Charlene declared:
“It is great to be with you all this evening in this beautiful venue to raise funds for the Kilifi Project. As you know, I care passionately about putting an end to drowning.
It is excellent to be working in partnership with the AMREF Flying Doctors and I thank everyone here for supporting this exciting initiative.
Currently we are working in six schools in Kenya – delivering programmes in hygiene education, learn to swim and water safety.
As we enter phase two of the project we are now looking to consolidate and expand our work in the region.
Together we will save lives.
Thank you. »

The 40.000 € collected during the auction and the Blue Africa Gift campaign will be used to implement, support and develop the 2nd phase of the Kilifi project in Kenya.
