The Montpellier team wins the 2022 edition of the Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament

Saturday, May 7th at the Stade Louis-II, was held the 10th edition of the Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament organized by the Monegasque Rugby Federation in partnership with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

In the presence of T.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, H.S.H. Crown Prince Jacques and H.S.H. Princess Gabriella, this international U-12 rugby 7 tournament welcomed 16 teams from 14 countries: Andorra, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, Spain, France, Georgia, Mauritius, Ireland, Italy,  Luxembourg, Morocco, Monaco, Switzerland.

After a day of competition, the Montpellier Hérault Rugby team won the international tournament trophy after dominating the final 5-1 against the Apollo Perelini Rugby Skills Academy of Dubai.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II presented the trophy to the winning team and Mr. Gareth Wittstock, President of the Monegasque Rugby Federation and Secretary General of the Foundation, presented the trophy to the finalist team.
The best player of the tournament, Sandro Garbajosa of the Montpellier team, was presented with his trophy by Mr. Mathieu Bastareaud.

Mr. Mathieu Bastareaud, sponsor of this 2022 edition, mentioned that this tournament was "an opportunity to bring together hundreds of children from different backgrounds and to share a very good moment around our sport", recalling the flagship values of rugby: Sacrifice, Courage, Solidarity and Sharing.
