World First Aid Day - 09.09.2016

On World First Aid Day, which took place in Geneva on 9 September, H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco declared: “Children are capable of saving the lives of themselves and others around them if they are equipped with first aid training.”

The International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and H.S.H. Princess Charlene, Goodwill Ambassador, are calling for children everywhere around the world to be trained in first aid.

An estimated one million children die every year from treatable injuries and millions more are hospitalized as a result of accidents like drowning, automobile crashes, falls and burns.

The members of the Monegasque delegation accompanying H.S.H. Princess Charlene were comprised of His Excellency Philippe Narmino, Vice-President of the Monegasque Red Cross, Head of Legal Services, President of the Council of State, Mr. Stéphane Valeri, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Mr. David Tomatis, Advisor to the Cabinet of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, Mrs. Agnès Falco, Secretary General of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.
