Water Safety Days 2021 in Corsica




The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation organises the "Water Safety Days" in Calvi on 4-5 June and in Saint-Florent on June 7th.
 
Lifesaving, first aid and water safety workshops on the beach will be offered to the children of the schools of Calvi and Saint-Florent. These workshops will be supervised by Mrs. Stéphanie Geyer Barneix lifesaving world champion, with the support of a team of sports professionals, of the National Sea Rescue Society (SNSM) and of the firefighters of the city of Calvi.
  
As part of these awareness days, the children will also participate in workshops on the theme of the « preservation of our marine environment » presented in partnership with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.

On Friday June 4th, the workshops will be reserved to the fifth-graders of the “Ecole élémentaire publique Calvi Loviconi”.

On Saturday June 5th, the water safety workshops will take place from 9 am to 11 am on the beach of Calvi and will be open to children aged 8 to 12 (reservation only -->
07 84 81 83 74).

Also on June 5th, in partnership with the city of Calvi and the Port Xavier Colonna, the public will be able to discover different associations on the port, access exhibitions and participate in activities, including:
  • Waste retrieval with the “Dpol” machines (Ekkopol)
  • Discovery of waste sorting and plastic recycling with Mare Vivu
  • Discovery of marine fauna with Stareso
  • Initiation to underwater diving
  • Exhibition and try-outs of water bikes

On Tuesday June 7th, the fifth-graders of the school of Saint-Florent will participate in the same water safety workshops.
