IMPIS U16 Jersey Competition – Charles III School
On Wednesday 5th of November, HSH Princess Charlene, President of the Monegasque Rugby Federation, visited Collège Charles III for the second edition of the creative jersey contest, which will determine the design worn by Monaco’s U16 national rugby sevens team at the International Tournament in Dubai at the end of November.
Organized by the Monegasque Rugby Federation, in partnership with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and the “Direction de l’Éducation Nationale, de la Jeunesse et des Sports”, the contest brought together nearly 160 students from grades 6 to 9 at Collège Charles III.
Guided by their art teachers, the students spent five weeks designing a jersey featuring symbols representing both Monaco and South Africa, as well as the logos of the Federation and the Foundation.
Accompanied by her brother, Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, the Princess warmly congratulated the 158 participants and praised the creativity of the 17 finalists before presenting awards to the three winners.
The overall winner, Yohann Fonkoa, a 9th-grade student, will see his design worn by Monaco’s U16 national team in Dubai and will soon receive a unique jersey signed by the players.
HSH the Princess then took time to meet with the students and sign their designs, sharing a joyful and friendly moment that reflected the sporting values so dear to her.
