The British Barbarians were in preparation in Monaco

The XV de France manager Fabien Galthié and his staff were in Monaco at the head of the British Barbarians in order to prepare for the game against England on Sunday, June 19th in Twickenham.

The Barbarians game takes place on the weekend of the Top 14 playoff semi-finals (Friday 17th and Saturday 18th), just before the French national team leaves for a tour in Japan, where they will play two matches, on July 2nd and 9th.

On Monday, June 13th, 2022, the entire delegation was received at the Prince’s Palace by H.S.H. Prince Albert II.

The hosting of the British Barbarians in Monaco is part of a partnership between this institution and the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

The players wore the Foundation colours and logo during the game at Twickenham on Sunday. This collaboration will also continue for a match in November against the All Blacks, in England.

Me. Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and President of the Fédération monégasque de rugby, was delighted about this meeting:

“It is a great opportunity for the Foundation and the Federation to share the values of rugby by hosting this prestigious delegation in Monaco. It is also a means to reinforce existing links between the French and Monegasque Rugby Federations ahead of the 2023 World Cup preparations, and to have our national team grow.”
