Protecting Lives on Cox’s Bazar Beaches

SeaSafe supported by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, is a joint initiative launched in 2013 through a collaboration between the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) and the Center for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB) with the primary goal of reducing the risk of drowning in the coastal areas of Cox’s Bazar.

SeaSafe focuses on four key components: 24/7 lifeguard services, targeted water safety education, beach safety education for tourists, and free-swimming lessons for children aged 6 to 10.

Beach safety education initiatives inform tourists about risks such as rip currents, tidal changes, and the importance of lifeguarded areas. Free swimming lessons are provided to children aged 6-10 to develop their confidence, skills, and understanding of water safety practices.
