Road Safety Day: awareness and sports in the spotlight for the whole family
On Sunday morning, March 29, LL AA SS Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene participated in the second edition of Road Safety Day.
Organised by the Princess Charlene Foundation on the Larvotto Esplanade, this event celebrates soft mobility and road education in a spirit of sharing.
A true family event, this day combined sports initiation and prevention. Thanks to the valuable collaboration of the Monegasque Red Cross, the Fire Brigade, the Public Security, the SMA and La Vuelta, the public was able to enjoy interactive and educational workshops.
Accompanied by Mr. Gareth Wittstock and Mrs. Anne Boggio, respectively Secretary General and Director of the Princess Charlene Foundation, the Princely Couple was able to discover:

- The entertainment village: fun spaces to raise awareness among young and old.
- The Pumptrack: a dynamic course for thrill-seekers.
- The road safety circuit: a dedicated area for perfecting your cycling skills with confidence.
- The Monabike Challenge: a unique sports challenge to promote the use of electric bikes in urban areas.
From 9:45, the starting gun was fired for an endurance challenge: seven teams, composed of personalities and representatives of Monegasque institutions, took turns for eight hours through the streets of the Principality. Each kilometre travelled symbolized the collective commitment to a safer and more responsible road.
Road Safety Day reaffirms the Foundation’s commitment to the protection and education of young people, by uniting road safety and the benefits of sport.
