Rugby Sevens: Monaco Crowned European Champion in Andorra
This weekend, the players from the Monaco Rugby Federation made a strong impression by winning gold in the European tournament. By claiming victory in Conference 1 the third tier of European Rugby Sevens, they secured promotion to the next level for the upcoming season. Andorra once again proved to be a lucky ground for the Red and Whites. Less than a month after their triumph at the Games of the Small States of Europe, Monaco’s rugby players have done it again this time at the European Championships!
Under the guidance of coach David Bolgashvili, the team lifted the trophy after a series of five intense matches. Their campaign began with a solid win over Cyprus (28–12), but the Monegasques, led by captain Ioan Tolosano, stumbled in their second game, narrowly losing to the hosts, Andorra, by just four points (15–19).
