Sospel Natation Azur: a new year under the sign of water safety

On Friday, July 25, a graduation ceremony took place in Sospel as part of the “Sospel Natation Azur” project, set up since 2022 by the Princess Charlene Foundation of Monaco, in partnership with the City of Sospel and the PACA League of the French Swimming Federation, via Natation Azur.

This initiative aims to enable children to learn to swim in a supervised and safe environment, while allowing them to acquire essential skills to ensure their own safety in the aquatic environment.

The ceremony was attended by Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, Anne Boggio, Director General, and Xavier Archimbault, Project Manager.

Christophe Brunengo, Mayor of Sospel, was represented by his first deputy, Jean-Mario Lorenzi, alongside several members of the Municipal Council. Rémi Besson, representative of the PACA League of the French Swimming Federation, was also present to accompany this graduation.

Through Sospel Natation Azur, children in Sospel and the surrounding municipalities, notably Breil-sur-Roya and Moulinet, benefit from a swimming learning integrated into the school curriculum and adapted to different levels. The project notably allows them to develop the minimum skills necessary for their safety in the water and to participate in the “Sauve’Nage” test, approved by the French Swimming School and the FFN.

The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation thus continues its commitment to water safety education and drowning prevention, by supporting children from an early age.
