Surf & Rescue: Saving Lives on Portuguese Beaches

Surf & Rescue is a nationwide project dedicated to reducing drowning fatalities on Portuguese beaches through training, education, and prevention. Developed in collaboration with the National Lifesaving Institute, the Foundation, and the municipalities the project strengthens a unified approach to beach safety.
The initiative empowers surfers, lifeguards, and everyday beach users with essential rescue skills and sea-safety knowledge.

A strong focus is placed on educating young people through school programs, currently active in Porto and Matosinhos, with plans to expand across Portugal this year.
