Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament – Saturday, May 7th

The Monegasque Rugby Federation and the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation present the 10th edition of the Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament, which will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Stade Louis-II starting at 8:45 am.

Back after a 2-year gap, this international U-12 rugby 7 tournament will see 16 teams from 14 countries compete against each other: Andorra, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, Spain, France, Georgia, Mauritius, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Monaco, Switzerland.

The Tournoi Sainte Dévote was created in 2009 following an exchange between the Monegasque Rugby Federation and the Rugby Club Lucciana, in Corsica. The tournament has evolved year after year to become a reference in rugby 7 and promote rugby values such as discipline, tolerance, and respect.

The international competition sees young players under the age of 12 compete against each other and allows children to make unforgettable encounters during their stay.

In addition to the main competition, the Rugby for all will offer courses adapted to children and young adults with disabilities.

For this new 2022 edition, the sponsor of the tournament is Mr. Mathieu Bastareaud, emblematic player of the French national Team and of RC Toulon currently playing for Lyon Olympique Universitaire (LOU). He is committed to young people and supports the values of rugby through positive, inclusive, and preventive education.
