Monaco 7s

T.S.H Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène attended the first edition of the Monaco Sevens Tournament at the Stade Prince Hereditary Jacques in Beausoleil on Friday, May 1st.
Organised by the Monegasque Rugby Federation and AS Monaco Rugby, with the support of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, this rugby sevens competition brought together women’s and men’s teams from Monaco and abroad, in an atmosphere that is both sporting, friendly and committed.
HSH Princess Charlène, President of the Monegasque Rugby Federation, kicked off the Elite men tournament, alongside Antoine Zeghdar, sponsor of the event and Ambassador of his Foundation.
At the end of the tournament, the Princely Couple handed over the trophy to the Seventise, a team victorious in Elite Men against UAE
Shaheen 35-14.
The day was also marked by a particularly moving moment: a tribute paid to Christophe Dominici, an emblematic figure of French rugby, who died in 2020. His daughters, Kiara and Mya, handed out the trophies of the best players, in the presence of their mother, Loretta Réfler and Matthieu Lartot, the leading commentator of the XV’s matches.
