SBM cheque donnation in support of drowning prevention and animal care

On Monday 15 September, H.S.H. Princess Charlene welcomed representatives of the Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) to the Prince’s Palace for two cheque presentations to her Foundation and the Monaco Society for the Protection of Animals (S.P.A.), of which she is also President.

A donation of €60,235 was made to the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, representing part of the proceeds from the 2024 and 2025 F1 Grand Prix Sunday evening event at Jimmy’z.
This amount will help fund vital projects in Bangladesh, where the Foundation is actively fighting against drowning – a tragic cause that claims the lives of nearly 19,000 people each year, including 14,000 children.
Since 2017, the Foundation has been supporting the Centre for Injury Prevention and Research – Bangladesh (CIPRB) in Cox’s Bazar, and since 2021, a programme in partnership with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

In addition, a donation of €8,500 was made to the Monaco S.P.A., thanks to the proceeds from an internal sale organised for SBM staff. This sum will support the association’s work on behalf of animals awaiting rehoming.

The cheque presentation ceremony was attended by Mr Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Foundation, Mr Stéphane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of SBM, Ms Sophie Vincent, HR Director of SBM, Mr Frédéric Darnet, Director of Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, and Mr Antonio Ierone, Manager of Jimmy’z.

Many thanks to SBM for its loyal commitment to the Princess Charlene Foundation and the Monaco S.P.A.
