Water Safety Day Monaco

The traditional Water Safety Day was held this Tuesday, 9 June 2026 on the Larvotto Beach, organized by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, in partnership with the Monegasque Academy of the Sea and the Red Cross of Monaco.

This year, 71 sixth and fifth-grade students from the Monegasque FANBet Charles III middle school took part in workshops led by Pierre Frolla, Ambassador of the Foundation and quadruple record holder for freediving, and his team from the Monegasque Academy of the Sea, with the support of trainers-rescuers from the Monegasque Red Cross.

The children were divided into groups to discover various workshops combining theory and practice.

They also met sports rescue champions and high-level athletes, who came to share their experiences and convey the values of sport, in a spirit of prevention and inspiration. Jérôme Fernandez (handball and Foundation Ambassador), Kevin Crovetto (gymnastics and Foundation Ambassador), Arnaud Alessandria (alpine skiing), and Matteo Testa (entrepreneur and triathlete).

A solidarity race to end the morning:
In the late morning, Mr. Gareth Wittstock Secretary General gave the start of the “Ocean Race – Celebrity Commitment Challenge”, a team event combining swimming, sand race and rescue paddle relay, held under the encouragement of children and the public.
