Water Safety Day of the Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament

H.S.H. Princess Charlene attended the 2025 edition of the “Water Safety” initiative on Thursday, April 24, held at the Louis-II Stadium swimming pool.

In the lead-up to the Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation organized this morning event dedicated to drowning prevention and aquatic rescue training.

Led by Foundation Ambassador Pierre Frolla and his team from the Monégasque Sea Academy, the session aimed to raise children’s awareness of lifesaving techniques through a fun and educational approach to the aquatic world.

More than 108 children from the 9 international teams participating in the tournament (Mauritius, Ecuador, New Zealand, Argentina, USA, South Africa, Zimbabwe, India, and Georgia) took part in a variety of hands-on workshops.

Three “dry” workshops were also offered, hosted respectively by the Monaco Red Cross, the Monégasque Anti-Doping Committee, and the Monégasque Olympic Committee.

For many children, this event marked their first experience with aquatic rescue, in a safe, structured, and caring environment.

It fully reflects the mission of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, which is committed internationally to preventing drowning and promoting the values of solidarity, education, and sport.
